PowerNet Global awarded Medical Mutual Pillar Award for community service provided to the local Tristate area

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- PowerNet Global, a veteran of the telecommunications industry for nearly two decades and well known for strong business ethics, integrity, and reliability, received double honors with The Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service, presented by Smart Business Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, and the Kent Clapp CEO Leadership Award.

The Pillar Award recognizes the tie between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds by honoring organizations and individuals that positively impact the region and strengthen the community. PowerNet Global, founded on core values of spirituality, integrity, compassion, conviction, and flexibility, was recognized for its everyday practices that include sponsoring and participating in events that give back to the community, providing financial contributions to various causes, and encouraging employees to volunteer personal time with its Charitable PTO program.

"PowerNet Global’s commitment to giving back has gone above and beyond what's expected to be a good corporate citizen, and it’s been the employees at PNG who have taken it upon themselves to drive the organization’s efforts,” stated Dustin S. Klein, publisher and executive editor, Smart Business. “Accordingly, we're pleased that Smart Business is able to recognize the firm with a 2011 Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service because the breadth and scope of PNG’s community giving programs should serve as an example for others to follow."

In addition to PowerNet Global being recognized with the Pillar Award, the company’s CEO, Bernie Stevens, was honored with the Kent Clapp CEO Leadership Award. The distinction recognizes one top executive of a for-profit company whose commitment and spirit for community service serves as an example for the organization he or she leads and filters down throughout that organization.

“We are especially pleased to honor Bernie Stevens with our inaugural Kent Clapp CEO Leadership Award as part of the 2011 Pillar Award for Community Service program,” stated Dustin S. Klein, publisher and executive editor, Smart Business. “His leadership, dedication, and spirit of philanthropy are to be commended, and it’s no wonder the employees at PowerNet Global have furthered his philosophy to the point where community service is woven into the very fabric of the company.”

“I am honored to receive the Kent Clapp CEO Leadership Award,” Bernie Stevens, president & CEO of PowerNet Global, said. “However, it does not feel right to be singled out and recognized without mentioning the support that goes behind it. The award would not be possible without the dedicated, caring, and reliable staff that comprises PowerNet Global.”
