Enhanced Offerings Enable Increased Adoption and Retention of Security Awareness Programs

CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- PhishMe, the leading provider of anti-phishing education, today announced the release of several new anti-phishing training features to help enterprises enhance their security awareness programs. The new features, which include native language support, user friendly animations and customized scenario and announcement development, are immediately available for all existing and new PhishMe customers.

Language Support

To support its diverse base of multi-national customers, PhishMe has translated the core educational materials and a number of scenarios into French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. This effort allows customers to target user populations in many locations with phishing exercises in their native language. By training people in both English and their native language, companies greatly increase the ability of employees to recognize a phishing attack before it becomes a problem. The first three languages offered are based on specific customer demographics and will continue to expand upon this offering in the future.

“The success of any security posture comes down to an organization’s ability to ensure its employees are able to effectively identify and avoid a potential threat,” said Aaron Higbee, co-founder and CTO of PhishMe. “Our newly enhanced features set provide enterprises with a fun and effective way to get their employees on board with security awareness. When you can increase the adoption and retention of your security awareness program, you are one step closer to ensuring your company’s name stays out of the breach headlines.”

User Friendly Animations

PhishMe understands the challenge of getting employees to partake in security awareness training and developed a series of three 90-second educational animations that highlight the techniques used by attackers in click only, data entry and attachment based scenarios. This provides an additional, entertaining method of educating staff and customers. The videos are a complimentary partner to PhishMe’s popular fully-customizable game training material and serve as a light hearted and highly effective way to introduce recipients to an organization’s awareness efforts. The videos can be customized to include customer specific branding to seamlessly blend into a mature security awareness program. The videos are available to all PhishMe customers for use with template or custom scenarios.

Customized Scenario and Announcement Development

PhishMe offers customized scenario development to address any type of phishing threat or timely incident. PhishMe rapidly created training materials and a scenario template to mimic the same phish that hit RSA. This allows customers to emulate the same attack and measure how their organization would have fared. PhishMe’s announcements feature provides customers the ability to send informative and graphically rich training messages without running a full exercise. One example is education about the dangers of password protected zip files which is the same technique outlined in Symantec’s Nitro report.

“Having worked as a federal law officer investigating online crime for over 11 years, I can appreciate the ability to properly prepare your organization from potential threats,” said Jim Hansen, Vice President of PhishMe. “Spear phishing continues to be a leading attack vector of choice for advanced persistent threats (APTs), and proactive training can dramatically decrease the likelihood of an attacker’s success – resulting in a significantly reduced incident response burden.”
