NVIDIA, Bright Computing, and University of Toronto join NextIO in talks on GPU Computing in HPC during Birds of a Feather and Exhibitor Forum sessions

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- NextIO, the premier provider of next-generation I/O consolidation and virtualization solutions, today announced that the company will join NVIDIA, Bright Computing, and the University of Toronto in two educational sessions on GPU consolidation in high-performance computing (HPC) at International Supercomputing (ISC) 2011, Wednesday, June 22. As a part of ISC’s Birds of a Feather sessions, where attendees can present and share common HPC interests, NextIO has teamed up with NVIDIA and Bright Computing to present “GPUs: Trendy Technology or Serious Computing?” on Wednesday, June 22 at 4 p.m. Duncan Poole, Senior Manager at NVIDIA; Jeff Norris, Vice President of Business Development at Bright Computing; and Bob Shaw, Director of Customer Support at NextIO will:

• Share lessons in deriving maximum value from GPUs in HPC
• Invite participants to explore and debate the merits of GPU computing, including lessons on maximizing value in HPC and effectively managing complex clusters comprising both traditional CPUs and GPUs
• Present several HPC case studies to illustrate contrasting compute scenarios

Professor Clinton Groth, Ph.D of the University of Toronto will present “NextIO vCORE Express: A Platform for High-Performance Scientific Computing Research Using Heterogeneous Multi-Processor Systems at SciNet” during the ISC Exhibitors Forum, Wednesday, June 22 at 12:10 pm.
