BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Leading entrepreneur group, TiE Boston hosted the second TiE CXO Forum’s Technology Innovation Exchange for CIOs and CTOs from large companies located from New England. CIOs, CTOs and Senior Executives from large corporations such as Bose, EMC, Fidelity, Univision, Mitre, Putnam, Thermo Fisher, State Street and others met at Westin Hotel, Waltham on April 12, 2011.

The purpose of this event was to discuss new technologies with CIO’s and introduce them to industry experts, local companies and other CIO’s working on emerging technologies. This year’s event, featured discussions on Desktop of the Future and Data Visualization. These two topics were what CIOs felt most critical to their current organizational concerns based on a survey from the TiE event organizing team.

The Desktop of the Future discussion kicked off with a panel discussion featuring the heads of IT architecture from EMC and State Street Corporation. The panel described the challenges they are facing, outlined their vision and solutions that they are implementing in their organizations. This was followed by presentations from three Massachusetts start-ups: Copiun, Desktone and Unidesk helping them seek large company customers.

John Hagerty, VP and Distinguished Analyst from Gartner presented his overview of the Business Intelligence and Data Visualization market. This was followed by a presentation by a local start company, OpenViz.

The participants appreciated the format of the meeting which brought together CIOs, Gartner and area companies for a fast paced and highly informative interaction.

KK, Krishnakumar, VP and Chief IT Architect of EMC said, “I have always found the TiE CXO forum to be an inspiring event. There is usually a set of excellent discussions on relevant and thought-provoking issues. The concept of having local startups present their solutions to some of these issues is a great idea. I have always come back with a higher degree of understanding about the subjects being covered and also followed up with a few of the companies that have presented. The organizers have to be congratulated in attracting a small yet relevant group of executives to the forum.”

This Dinner event was sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland and organized by the TiE CXO Forum team which includes, Gene Zimon, Jayesh Patel, Alok Prasad, Mike Grandinetti, Gopal Subramanian and Srini Bhopal.
