Talent Management Customer Presentations Include Those From Merck, Sara Lee, McKee Foods and Luvata

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Lumesse, one of the world’s leading integrated talent management companies, today announced that it is making available customer and industry expert presentations from its record-setting Lumesse “Journey” Conference held here last month. Lumesse Journey presentations noted here can be found at http://goto.lumesse.com/g/?RKFUOXVFJ3 and are in either PowerPoint or video formats.

Lumesse is one of the world’s leading talent acquisition and management companies, helping over 1,700 businesses worldwide find and manage the people they need in a changing world. Lumesse rebranded from its former identity, StepStone Solutions, in early May 2011 following a management buyout of the business in mid 2010.

Lumesse Customer Presentations

Jamie Whitmore, director Executive Talent Development at Merck spoke about “Performance Management -- Mergers and Acquisitions Facilitator.” He noted that performance management was a key lever that was used to facilitate two mergers in the past four years. First, the Schering-Plough acquisition of Organon BioSciences and second, Merck's acquisition of Schering-Plough. The tools in place for performance management were varied and even paper-based. In both cases, the project to implement a global performance management system was kicked off before the merger was finalized. Merck has completed its first cycle with solid success and is now preparing for the next phase of its talent management solutions: talent reviews and succession planning.

Catherine Berridge, director of HR Operations, Sara Lee, The Netherlands, presented on “Integrated Talent Management.” She noted that two years ago when Sara Lee was looking to replace its legacy performance management and succession planning systems its goal was not just to implement an integrated talent management solution but to drive employee engagement and support its new global employee value proposition. After the first step in the journey – the successful implementation of the Lumesse Performance Management and Career & Succession Planning -- Sara Lee has seen clear first signs of success.

Mark B. Newsome, senior corporate HRM, McKee Foods and Jeff Mays, talent acquisition leader for McKee Foods, gave a presentation on “Two Steps Forward One Step Back.” McKee Foods is on a journey to develop its talent management processes. Newsome and Mays walked attendees through the early steps of their talent acquisition implementation, including McKee Foods' collaboration with Lumesse and Workday, supplier of its human capital management (HCM) solution, to integrate the two systems -- a global first.

Joan Murray, director for Global HR Program, Luvata Global, spoke on “Compensation Using a Pay for Performance Strategy.” She noted that Luvata underwent a challenging transformation when it was created by the acquisition of a multitude of companies around the world including a total of 55 companies in 36 facilities operating in 19 countries. With this ambitious endeavor came the enormous challenge to bring the new organization under one compensation strategy. With the successful deployment of the Lumesse Compensation module, Luvata was able to overcome a multitude of obstacles in its global implementation ranging from languages, currency and cultural differences.

Lumesse Industry Expert Presentations

In addition to presentations from Lumesse clients, Lumesse is also making available at the same location presentations from the following industry experts:

  • John Sumser, CEO, HR Examiner, who presented on “Using Talent Management to See Your Organization's Future.”
  • Michael Boedewig, principal, Deloitte Consulting, and William Cleary, manager, Deloitte Consulting, who presented on “Talent Goes Mainstream: Talent and Technology.”
