Local.com® CEO Heath Clarke Named Winner of TechAmerica Internet Innovator Award
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Local.com Corporation (NASDAQ:LOCM), a leading local search site and network, today announced that Heath Clarke, chairman and chief executive officer, has been named the winner in the Internet category for TechAmerica’s 52nd Annual Innovator Awards. The awards honor eight innovators representing different industry segments for their contributions to the technology industry.
"I’m honored to be recognized by one of the technology industry's premier organizations," said Clarke. "I graciously accept this award on behalf of the Local.com team, who work tirelessly to develop innovative new products, services and technologies in this exciting industry. I would also like to thank our board of directors for their leadership and counsel, and my family for their enduring support.”
Clarke was named Outstanding CEO at TechAmerica's 2010 Annual Orange County High-Tech Innovation Awards in June. Local.com was also recently named Orange County's third fastest-growing public company by The Orange County Business Journal.
“We had a lot of nominations for these prestigious awards, and we congratulate Heath for his winning achievement,” said TechAmerica President and CEO Phil Bond. “TechAmerica is excited to highlight Heath as he continues to influence technology development throughout the rest of the world.”
The Innovator Awards were created to recognize the person rather than the innovation or the company. The TechAmerica Commercial Policy Board voted on the nominations to select one winner in each of the following categories: Clean Tech/Green Tech/Smart Grid, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Internet, Medical Devices, and Software.
The winners were announced on Monday, October 11, at TechAmerica’s David Packard Medal of Achievement and Innovator Awards’ 52nd Annual Dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley in East Palo Alto, California. Since 1959, the event has featured TechAmerica’s highest award, the David Packard Medal of Achievement, to honor significant lifetime contributors and pioneers of the high-tech industry. Innovator Awards are also bestowed upon eight innovators representing different industry segments. For more information, please visit http://www.techamerica.org/innovatorawards.
