Cloud Contact Center Technology Bolsters Employment Options

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- LiveOps, the leading provider of cloud contact center technology and talent, announced today that Vision Perry, a non-profit collaborative workforce development initiative in Perry County, Tennessee, has chosen to utilize the LiveOps platform to provide virtual work-from-home opportunities to help this rural area and surrounding counties offset the 20 percent unemployment rate.

“Rural areas like Perry County are some of the hardest hit during difficult economic times. The citizens in these areas possess the drive, talent, and skills to work hard for any employer starting today. They deserve the opportunity to work. Our decision to work with LiveOps allows us to give hundreds of them that opportunity,” said Michael Dumont, executive director of Vision Perry. “We are developing a 21st century workforce; not only for customer service but other 21st century positions. LiveOps is an excellent platform that allows students to enhance their newly developed skills and they no longer will have to look outside the county for work and in most cases the daily long commute is eliminated. I’m looking forward to seeing the positive impact this relationship makes on this wonderful area of our state. We are developing a Digital Factory Network© that we will roll out throughout the state and plan on turning these country roads into the digital highway.”

Perry County and surrounding counties can leverage LiveOps innovative technology to provide work opportunities that can be performed within the county. Vision Perry has already helped prepare participants to have the required skills to meet LiveOps’ rigorous admission requirements necessary to be contact center agents. As independent agents for LiveOps they have the opportunity to provide sales and customer service type work to a broad array of companies. The cost of entry for each agent to participate in the program is the minimal cost of doing business: Internet access, computer, a phone line, and a background check.

“Attracting a brick-and-mortar company to relocate or open a location in rural areas is a challenge. Yet because of the technological innovation available to companies doing business in the cloud, work opportunities are available anywhere, at anytime,” said Tim Whipple, Vice President, Community Operations, LiveOps. “I have had the opportunity to meet some of the agents from this area and have found them to be very motivated and talented. I’m confident that Vision Perry’s efforts in assisting Perry County’s residents in their desire to become LiveOps’ agents will be a great success. In fact, since the inception of Vision Perry, Perry County has developed one of the fastest growing concentrations of LiveOps agents in the United States.”

“Being an independent home agent has given me flexibility and freedom that I never thought I could have and still earn a living. Employment opportunities here in Perry County have been very limited. But now I have access to multiple work opportunities every week that allow me to use my professional skills and I’m recognized for my performance. If I work hard, not only does the company I’m working with benefit but so can I,” said Elaine Frazier, a LiveOps independent contact center agent from Linden, Tennessee.

Since 2000, LiveOps has leveraged the Internet along with the latest telephony technologies to transcend geographic constraints and access to work, making LiveOps the ideal technology provider for organizations like Vision Perry. Today more than 200 companies have access to the LiveOps community of more than 20,000 skilled professionals who are choosing to opt-in to the cloud-based LiveOps platform for flexible work opportunities. By tapping into the vast US-based pool of qualified, skilled and highly motivated freelancers and independent business owners LiveOps has created a better sales and service experience for customers, and in the process, transformed how sales and service work is done.
