Liaison Technologies’ Cloud-Based Tokenization Service Gets Thumbs Up from Customers and Partners Offering PCI Compliant S
Liaison Protect™ Tokenization-as-a-Service Popular with Enterprises That Want to Reduce Cost of Complying with Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standard
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Liaison Technologies, a global provider of secure cloud-based integration and data management services and solutions, announced today that its Liaison Protect™ Tokenization-as-a-Service (TaaS) solution is garnering high marks from companies that need to comply with the Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
Embraced by organizations that want to reduce scope for PCI DSS audits without incurring the expense and effort of an on-premise tokenization solution, TaaS is finding traction across multiple industries—including retail, e-commerce, financial services, hospitality and healthcare—as well as with business service providers. This is especially the case in the SMB market, where the cost of adding the infrastructure to support tokenization can be prohibitive.
One recent TaaS customer and partner is ExoIS, a global provider of information security and compliance solutions that help companies reduce their compliance footprint by removing entire functions or network segments from scope. ExoIS is integrating Liaison Protect TaaS into PeepSafe™, its SaaS offering to facilitate the de-scoping of applications and ERP systems.
“We chose Liaison Protect TaaS so that we could offer our customers a hosted tokenization service as part of our PeepSafe solution,” said Ruth Xovox, Chief Compliance Strategist of ExoIS. “TaaS fits our requirements exactly, by delivering a transparent, high-performance and PCI-compliant solution that encrypts and tokenizes data in the cloud. Wrapping our PeepSafe environment around the TaaS offering provides an end-to-end solution, leaving absolutely no local footprint on the customer premises. We believe that this is the only such combined system available today and it has proven to significantly reduce compliance costs for the customer.”
Liaison was first to market with its cloud-based managed Format Preserving Tokenization™ service when it announced Liaison Protect TaaS in February 2011, giving customers a choice on how to tokenize any type of confidential information. Liaison teamed up with Verizon Business to offer tokenization on Verizon’s Computing as a Service (CaaS) platform, the first cloud-based solution to successfully complete the PCI DSS audit for storing, processing and transmitting credit card information.
Unlike other tokenization service providers, Liaison guarantees customers ownership of their tokenized data, including the token/data relationship, should the service contract be cancelled. What’s more, companies that use Liaison Protect TaaS can still use their payment gateway and payment processors of choice.
“Tokenization’s star is rising fast in the data security world as the PCI Security Standards Council, industry analysts, QSAs and CISOs have seen its effectiveness in reducing both risk and the cost of PCI DSS compliance,” said Dan Konisky, Liaison’s Director of Product Management. “Liaison has been instrumental in educating the market and pushing for standards while developing commercially successful on-premise and cloud-based tokenization solutions that are as equally suitable for protecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) as they are for protecting credit card data.”
