SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Larry Ellison, founder & CEO of Oracle Corporation [NASDAQ: ORCL], will keynote the Utah Technology Council’s (UTC) (http://www.utahtech.org) 2011 Hall of Fame Gala, an annual black-tie event honoring the accomplishments of the Utah technology industry. The gala, held at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, begins on Friday, November 4, 2011, at 6 p.m. with a networking reception followed by a dinner and program at 7 p.m.

The annual Hall of Fame event honors individuals with Utah ties who have made global contributions to the information technology, life science and clean-tech industries through new technology, innovation and leadership. The gala also headlines speakers from the world’s great technology companies. In past years, the keynotes have included John Chambers of Cisco, Eric Schmidt of Google, Jerry Yang of Yahoo!, Steve Ballmer of Microsoft, Mark Hurd when he was CEO of HP and Paul Otellini of Intel.

“Each year, I wonder how it could be possible to match the previous year’s celebration, and our senior senator Orrin Hatch achieved the gold standard with the addition of Larry Ellison as the keynote,” said Richard R. Nelson, UTC founder and CEO. “Again, the UTC Hall of Fame will be the premier technology event in Utah, if not in the entire Western region, because of the large number of top decision makers who would not miss this experience.”

The Hall of Fame celebration is the year’s largest gathering of Utah technology executives. For information on sponsorships, tables or individual tickets, visit www.utahtech.org or contact Mark Lehnhof at (801) 568-3500 or mark@utahtechcouncil.org.
