ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Damballa Inc., the company transforming the fight against cyber threats, announced today that it has been certified for the Q1 Labs Security Intelligence Partner Program (SIPP). Q1 Labs is a global provider of security intelligence solutions.

Damballa’s entry into the Q1 Labs SIPP solidifies its efforts to integrate with Q1 Labs’ open protocols, including LEEF (Log Event Enhanced Format) – the primary protocol utilized in security information and event management (SIEM) and log management deployments. This integration allows for more powerful correlation of security and application layer event data, including the ability to leverage the full extent of Damballa solutions that detect threats and anomalies.

Damballa Failsafe is an award-winning network security solution that detects and terminates botnet breaches, advanced persistent threats (APTs) and other cybercrime activity that relies on network-based command-and-control to commit fraud and steal intellectual property, corporate secrets and customer data. Customers benefit from this partnership by correlating alerts generated by Damballa Failsafe with other activity in Q1 Labs’ Security Intelligence Platform.

By adopting Q1 Labs’ LEEF protocol, Damballa is meeting a growing demand from customers to integrate Damballa Failsafe with the QRadar Security Intelligence Platform. This program also allows partners to more tightly integrate with Q1 Labs Security Intelligence products, providing a direct feed of event, asset/vulnerability, configuration management and flow information, as well as the enablement of automated updates. Collaborative testing as part of the SIPP certification process ensures interoperability between Damballa and the Q1 Labs family of products.

“We are excited that Damballa has been certified in our Security Intelligence Partner Program,” said Tom Turner, senior vice president of marketing and channels at Q1 Labs. “Our customers have a keen interest in protecting their enterprises from today’s modern cyber threats that rely on network-based command-and-control, and Damballa leads this space with advanced technology to fight this threat. The combination of Damballa and Q1 Labs delivers a powerful solution for our joint customers.”

“Joint customers of Damballa and Q1 Labs now benefit from an innovative and powerful defense against botnets and advanced malware attacks,” said Stephen Newman, vice president of product management at Damballa. “The integration between QRadar and Damballa Failsafe gives our joint customers the ability to automate remediation processes of compromised assets that Damballa has identified as part of a breach. By utilizing the LEEF protocols to integrate our forensic and threat profile information, Q1 Labs’ customers benefit from the real-time correlation in QRadar to drive remediation efforts.”
