Contegix Announces Cloud 9 Technology World Tour 2011
Cloud Ave to Present Keynote at Kickoff Event in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Contegix, a managed hosting and Internet infrastructure company, today announced the launch of the Cloud 9 Technology World Tour 2011. The opening event will take place on March 29th in St. Louis. Cloud 9 Technology World Tour 2011 is a leading venue for objective and educational content to help start-ups, IT directors and C-level executives increase their understanding of cloud computing.
A major focus for this conference is the growing use of managed hosting providers for hosting infrastructure and managed applications. Recent research indicates the inevitable widespread adoption of such trends. Lydia Leong, Vice President, Gartner Technology and Service Providers, predicted in her report, Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service and Web Hosting, published December 22, 2010, that by the end of 2011, cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) will account for almost 25% of the overall hosting market (excluding colocation and mass-market hosting).
“Contegix is managing entire infrastructures for our customers from start to finish, not just the hardware but the operating system as well, so that our customers can manage the core of their business and not worry about day-to-day operations of infrastructure,” said Matthew Porter, founder and chief executive officer, Contegix.
The Contegix Cloud 9 Technology World Tour 2011 event presents attendees with the opportunity to learn and engage with industry experts and will feature keynote speaker Krishnan Subramanian, analyst, Cloud Ave.
“Cloud computing is going to turn the business landscape upside down, and many companies do not know how to accommodate this major shift in both IT and business practice,” said Krishnan Subramanian, analyst, Cloud Ave. “I believe that we will end up with an open federated cloud ecosystem with many players, and I look forward to discussing predictions and offering a framework for companies to move to the cloud.”
Additional speakers will include:
- Scott Delap, scalability architect, Riot Games, sharing how Contegix has enabled Riot Games to utilize the cloud for game server provisioning on demand and load testing.
- Don Schleicher, vice president, VMWare, discussing what’s happening in the public cloud.
- Matthew Porter, founder and chief executive officer, Contegix, reviewing how the next step in cloud computing is outsourcing that extends into the system administration of the infrastructure and application stack.
