Healthcare solutions company boosts revenue, grows executive team and expands customer base in 2011

BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Connexall, USA, the leading developer of a hospital-wide interoperability engine, today announced the company increased its revenue in 2011 by 55 percent, driven by new customer engagements, expanded ongoing contracts and product innovation. Over the past year, Connexall also recruited several key healthcare IT executives and increased its footprint in the North American market with a new headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.

“Our unprecedented growth in 2011 is a clear sign that we’re one of the few healthcare companies that is not just talking about clinical workflow and collaboration, but actually enabling it,” said Bob Kennedy, vice president of sales at Connexall. “The past year has proven that whether a hospital is developing new construction, or revamping an existing facility, we enable those customers in breaking out of operational silos – and continuing to realizing return on their initial investments.”

New Products Backed by Unmatched Integrations Library

In 2011, Connexall surpassed more than 250 integrations, demonstrating its ability to connect all people, systems and tasks across the hospital – from the emergency department (ED) to the operating room (OR) to the intensive care unit (ICU). The company also introduced Connexall 4.3, the latest version of its hospital-wide integration engine with features including the Stryker®“Smart Bed” integration, email and SMPP (text messaging) closed loop acknowledgement and Web relay. Looking ahead, Connexall plans to introduce version 5.0, as well as four new care path solutions.

Growing Customer Base Includes Leading U.S. Health Systems

Over the past year, Connexall solutions were selected by several prestigious U.S. healthcare institutions, including Johns Hopkins Hospital, the University of Michigan Health System, Disney Family Cancer Center, Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital. Largely adopted during construction of new facilities, the company also experienced growth from existing accounts, with customers opting to expand the application of Connexall’s solutions after initial implementation.

“Working with Connexall gives us access to fundamentally transforming our ongoing issues around cost containment, collaborative process refinement and delivery of care,” said Paul Jones, director of technology services, Parkview Hospital. “As a result, our staff are empowered and enabled, with the freedom and flexibility to focus where it matters most – with the patient.”

Expanded Executive Team Drives Sales

Connexall increased its staff by 20 percent in 2010, with key additions including John Elms as president. John brings more than 20 years of senior management in the high tech industry including CEO roles at a public company, a venture-backed startup and his own entrepreneurial ventures. Mary Baum also came on board as chief healthcare officer, bringing nearly three decades of healthcare experience. Connexall’s market expansion was supported by a growing sales team, which doubled over the past year, including the appointment of industry leader Bob Kennedy as vice president of sales.
