Call for Nominations: 2012 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium Award for Innovation Leadership

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The MIT Sloan CIO Symposium (www.mitcio.com) seeks nominations for the 5th Annual MIT Sloan CIO Symposium Award, which distinguishes CIOs who lead their organizations to pursue the innovative use of Information Technology (IT) and business processes to deliver business value. The 2012 Award recipients will be honored during a ceremony at The Symposium on May 22, 2012.

Nominees must hold the title of CIO or Chief Medical Information Officer. Past award winners include:

  • Marco Orellana, CIO, CODELCO (Chile) in 2011
  • Casey Coleman, CIO, U.S. General Services Administration in 2010
  • Thomas Nealon, EVP and CIO, JCPenney also in 2010

Judging Criteria:

When reviewing applications, judges will examine candidates to see that they are a:

  • Trusted Advisor to the CEO, CFO and other senior executives by demonstrating how they incorporated IT into business decision-making, educated executives on IT’s potential, used IT to manage risk, and participated in key operational and executive committees.
  • Business Leader and can demonstrate how they understand business challenges, competition, market trends, and the organization's core competencies.
  • Strong Communicator who has articulated a vision for IT-enabled innovation, and has worked across the organization and with external stakeholders to gain support of and acceptance for this vision.
  • Proven Manager and have delivered core IT services that enabled innovation and growth

Deadline:
