CALIBRE Business Domains Earn CMMI Level 2 Rating

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CALIBRE Systems, Inc. (CALIBRE), continues to enhance its foundation in quality by investing in a robust process and quality improvement program.

Following a rigorous independent review, three additional CALIBRE Domains (business units) have achieved the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration^® for Development (CMMI^®-DEV) Maturity Level 2 appraisal rating. This rating is given to organizations that demonstrate an institutionalized and defined process for high quality services and products.

This external evaluation of our project management processes validates CALIBRE’s high standards and practices. The scope of this appraisal includes the Performance & Cost Management (PCM), Logistics Management Information & Technology (LMIT), and Logistics Management Services (LMS) Domains which achieved CMMI^® Level 2 compliance for Development Version 1.2 in November 2011. CALIBRE’s CMMI^® Level 2 rating is an independent validation that the company has standardized, defined, and documented processes in their project management and information technology practices. It indicates repeatability, predictability, and consistency in performance and delivery. In the area of Process and Product Quality Assurance, CALIBRE was rated at a Capability Level 4, showing superior quality and efficiency through quantitative management of its operations-wide quality management program.

CMMI^® is recognized as a standard within industry for critical software engineering and organizational development, providing organizations with the essential elements for effective process improvement. It consists of best practices for development, fabrication, project management, quality, and maintenance activities that cover a project or product lifecycle from conception through delivery and maintenance. A maturity level means that an organization is achieving the goals required by process areas in that level.
