Boulder Valley School District Wins Award for Use of Verismic’s Power Manager
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Verismic Software, a leader in PC power management (http://www.verismic.com/), is delighted that its customer, Boulder Valley School District, has been named winner of a 2011 InfoWorld Green 15 Award. Each year, IDG’s InfoWorld Green 15 awards recognize the 15 most innovative IT initiatives that fall under this umbrella of sustainability, and selection is based on the excellence and quality of the work environment.
Companies around the world have embraced green technology to drive projects and develop products aimed at boosting energy efficiency, trimming waste, and reducing or eliminating the use or the production of harmful substances. Through the Boulder Valley School District’s sustainability initiative to improve its environmental footprint and divert funds saved on energy toward better educational purposes through implementing Verismic’s Power Manager software, the district reports savings of $300,000 while reducing its carbon footprint by 3,670 tons per year.
“With this year's batch of Green 15 winners, organizations of all sizes across an array of industries -- from education to government to medical to energy -- continue to demonstrate that sustainable IT practices are smart business IT practices,” said Ted Samson, Senior Analyst, InfoWorld. “Green IT projects not only yield significant environmental benefits that improve an organization's environmental standing; they can result in major costs savings, efficiency boosts, and other rewards that will put a big smile on the CFO's face.”
“BVSD’s vision of more eco-friendly schools is what won the district this prestigious award,” said Ashley Leonard, CEO, Verismic. “We are very happy to have been able to play a part in helping this innovative school district succeed.”
