Spike is largest monthly gain since 2010

AMSTERDAM--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AVG Technologies, a leading provider of Internet and mobile security, today announced that its dedicated Education, Government and Not-for-Profit division secured more than 50,000 new public-sector computer systems in the month of July, 2011. This marks the largest monthly gain since the division was founded and adds significant momentum to the 1,000,000+ public- sector computers already protected by AVG in North America.

“Our division serves organizations critical to our nation’s infrastructure and social fabric,” said Luke Walling, VP of Education, Government and Non-Profit Sales for AVG. “Securing their computer systems therefore takes on a larger meaning – to which AVG is happy to contribute. Many of them operate under tight budgets and must routinely take projects out to bid. Throughout that process we offer them strong, one-on-one support to make sure we deliver value for the long haul.”

AVG has added 12 new dedicated team members to further support education, government and not-for-profit customers in 2011. The team is comprised of experts who can provide deployment assistance and cater to the unique organizational needs that are commonplace across these sectors. The group’s core focus has been and will continue to be centered on top-notch customer service, ensuring AVG clients are equipped with a solution that meets their needs from an ease-of-use, scalability and cost perspective.

“Without a doubt, AVG offers superior customer support,” said Jon May, director of information systems at The Children’s Bureau in Indiana. “Especially as a non-profit, it was reassuring to see AVG there every step of the way. In addition, the price was definitely better [than our previous solution].”

AVG’s Education, Government and Not-for-Profit division was founded in 2010 to provide antivirus software to schools, government institutions and non-profits at reduced costs – backed with free technical support from the United States.
