Ascom Network Testing Enables Wireless Operators to Optimize Ericsson and NSN Networks
TEMS Visualization Now Supports Multivendor Environments with a Scalable Solution
RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ascom Network Testing today announced additional vendor support and a highly scalable platform in the latest version of its wireless network troubleshooting and optimization solution, TEMS Visualization 8.1 Enterprise.
Already the leading solution for Ericsson’s call trace formats for 2G/GSM, 3G/WCDMA, and 4G/LTE, TEMS Visualization now supports Nokia Siemens Networks’ Megamon GEO interface for WCDMA, enabling operators to monitor and report on both Ericsson and NSN network environments.
TEMS Visualization also caters to networks of different sizes and requirements by enabling scalable server dimensions ranging from a low-price, entry-level system, to a very high performance, maximum system.
“With the advent of LTE, operators face more complexity and higher operational expenses as they must deal with networks consisting of 2G, 3G, and 4G technologies,” says Erik Tarnvik, VP of Marketing. “TEMS Visualization’s support for multiple vendors and technologies, together with its hidden-problem resolution and unmatched processing capacity, empowers operators to cost effectively manage these networks and increase subscriber traffic while ensuring quality of service and reducing churn.”
TEMS Visualization captures event-based performance data from the infrastructure to provide a subscriber-centric view of operator networks — something traditional network performance management (NPM) systems don’t do. Although NPM tools provide high-level key performance indicators from counter data, and drive-testing tools capture thin slices of network traffic, TEMS Visualization derives detailed information from large volumes of ‘live’ traffic.
Explains Tarnvik, “Engineers can use this data, which costs virtually nothing to collect, to understand not only how the network is performing, but also which subscribers are negatively impacted, where they are, what type of handset they’re using, and which type of service they are consuming.”
