AlertEnterprise Supports NESCO Cyber Security Initiatives to Protect Critical Infrastructure

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AlertEnterprise, Inc., today announced its sponsorship of cyber security initiatives spearheaded by the National Electric Sector Cybersecurity Organization (NESCO). NESCO is an independent public-private partnership operated by EnergySec with funding assistance from the U.S. Department of Energy.

This sponsorship aims to assist NESCO with its objective to foster and enhance cyber security best practices through an avenue of information sharing within the electric sector. NESCO serves as a focal point to bring together utilities, federal agencies, regulators and researchers to cultivate discussions around countering the toughest vulnerabilities and threats to cyber security.

“AlertEnterprise is leveraging its experience in security, risk and compliance for the energy grid to assist organizations in taking a proactive, rather than reactive approach to cybersecurity threats,” says AlertEnterprise CEO, Jasvir Gill. “AlertEnterprise has a game-changing vision to secure the electric grid from acts of sabotage and threat. We will work with EnergySec, through NESCO, to promote new security methodologies and best practices for the bulk electric grid and its critical infrastructure.”

“Utilities must use a holistic approach including both physical and electronic security to ensure reliability of critical operations. Sponsorships from companies such as AlertEnterprise demonstrate strong support from the software community for EnergySec's efforts through the NESCO to advance security in the electric sector and beyond,” says EnergySec CEO, Patrick Miller. “In addition to a significant financial contribution to NESCO’s initiatives, AlertEnterprise has provided thought leadership, best practices and expertise highly useful to NESCO and its participants.”

In addition to Critical Infrastructure Protection, AlertEnterprise has successfully created solutions for Airport Security, Power Generation, Nuclear Power Plant Cyber Security, Federal Cross-Agency Identity and Access Management, and Multi-Regulatory Compliance Automation.
