Abiquo Closes Distribution Deal with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation
Abiquo and Leading Japanese Distributor will Drive Growth of Enterprise Cloud in Asia
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Abiquo, the leading Enterprise Cloud Management software company, today announced its latest sales agreement with Japanese company ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC) to distribute Abiquo Enterprise Edition to organizations throughout Asia looking to enable and manage public, private and hybrid clouds.
The cloud computing market in Japan grew by 42 percent in 2010 and is expected to reach USD $1.8 billion by 2014, according to a recent report by IDC. Already one of the largest distributors in Japan, CTC is looking to further expand its presence and capitalize on the cloud opportunity by partnering with best of breed solutions. Abiquo’s Enterprise Edition includes key features to support global deployment by multi-national enterprises and international service providers, including the ability to set a broader range of resource limits, which can be applied at physical datacenter, virtual enterprise, and virtual datacenter levels in any combination, giving total flexibility.
“After a thorough evaluation of the available cloud management solutions, we chose Abiquo,” said Tohru Nakano, executive vice-president, Telecommunication Systems Group, CTC. “Abiquo provides unique features like support for heterogeneous environments, six hypervisors with virtual-to-virtual conversion, and the ability to manage globally distributed physical datacenters. Our customers have been asking for a cloud solution, and now we can deliver a powerful offering with Abiquo.”
CTC is already involved in a number of engagements across Japan and plans to drive the growth of enterprise cloud adoption. Not only will CTC be a distribution partner, they are also planning to use Abiquo Enterprise Edition in their own datacenters to provide cloud services to enterprises in the future.
“There is a major opportunity for distributing cloud management and enablement technology in Japan,” said Pete Malcolm, CEO of Abiquo. “We’ve seen that in the Asia-Pacific market, low cost and commodity resources are high priorities, and the service provider market won’t pay for the commercial license fees some vendors require. By offering a Cloud platform that is hypervisor agnostic, we’re giving organizations the opportunity to choose the solution that’s best for them, and by partnering with the leading distributor in Japan, we’re cementing Abiquo and CTC as the key providers in the Japanese cloud market.”
