Protecting the network perimeter is more important than ever before, thanks to the proliferation of smartphones, laptops and other mobile devices in the workplace. The use of mobile equipment is highest among executives, but use by workers at all levels is expected to increase significantly over the next few years. Because mobile devices have enjoyed a slow but steady growth in the workplace, they have largely flown under the radar, and according to recent research, nearly half of companies have no security and compliance measures in place to protect data on those devices, despite the fact that some of those devices store critical corporate data.
