From the "more bad news for Vonage department," the beleaguered VoIP provider has filed for a permanent stay from a recent ruling, which states that it cannot sign up any new customers [1]. While a judge has already granted a temporary stay on the ruling, it seems that Vonage needs more time. Apparently, the company sees no easy way out of using the technologies that infringe on Verizon's patents, claiming in a recent filing that "removal of the allegedly infringing technology, if even feasible, could take many months to fully study and implement." It's a little disheartening to see this sort of pessimism from Vonage during a time of crisis but you can't really blame them, as it's been nothing but bad news since the case began.
