Big Easy tech running while rebuilding
A year after Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans, the city, as well as most of its tech enterprises, are back up and running--though there is still plenty of work to be done. The biggest issues facing companies that rely on tech as a business qualifier are a shortage of staff and "fatigue" from trying to rebuild and prepare for future disasters simultaneously. As one IT leader explains, disaster recovery was always viewed as a "side item" on the tech project menu. Now it's the main course.
